EchoVault Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 5, 2026

EchoVault ("the App") is built on one simple promise: your recordings never leave your device. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what that means.

1. Information we DO NOT collect

The App has no accounts, no servers, no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs and no tracking of any kind. Specifically, the App never collects, transmits or stores remotely:

The developer never sees, receives or has access to any content you record.

2. Information stored on your device

All data stays in the App's private sandbox on your iPhone:

DataWhere it livesWho can access it
Recordings (audio files)App sandboxOnly the App (and you, via export)
Transcriptions & minutesApp sandboxOnly the App
AI/speech modelsApp sandboxOnly the App
Purchase statusApple App Store + App sandboxYou and Apple

Deleting the App permanently deletes all of this data. You can also delete individual recordings at any time in Settings → Recordings.

3. Network access

The App accesses the internet for exactly two purposes, both initiated by you:

  1. Model downloads. Speech-recognition and optional AI models are downloaded from

official public repositories (Hugging Face and GitHub). These requests transmit no personal data and no content of yours — they are ordinary file downloads.

  1. App Store purchases. Buying or restoring EchoVault Pro is processed entirely by

Apple through StoreKit. We never receive your payment details.

Nothing else in the App requires or performs any network communication. All recording, transcription, summarization, search and AI chat run 100% on-device, and work in Airplane Mode.

4. Optional iCloud Backup

If you enable iCloud Backup in Settings, the App copies your recordings and transcripts to your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit/Documents infrastructure, so you can restore them after reinstalling. This transfer is encrypted by Apple and is accessible only with your Apple ID. Backup is off by default and can be disabled or erased at any time. The developer has no access to your iCloud content.

5. Microphone permission

The App requests microphone access solely to record audio locally. The microphone permission string states this explicitly. No audio is ever streamed or uploaded.

6. Children's privacy

The App does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.

7. Third-party services

The App ships open-source inference runtimes (sherpa-onnx, llama.cpp) and model files published by their respective authors. These run entirely on your device and transmit no data. Model files are downloaded from the official repositories named in Section 3.

8. Your rights

Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side — your data is always in your hands: export it, delete it, or delete the App.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the update will ship with a new App version and an updated effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
